It was her birthday, she remembered! To wish or not? To call or just message? Questions running through her mind. Decision was made; she sent a wish and asked about the plans. Two words were all she got - "Thank you".  Replied with a “J” and deleted the thread.. Until next year, the cycle continues.

Thanks Gayu for the tag, I must say I quite liked your 6 word memoir, esp the 2nd one on "Aspired to Inspire before I Expire"

To sum up my life in 6 words, not that difficult. Why? Because I have had this in mind for as long as I can remember and this is how I would like to be remembered after am gone...

55 word story- Privacy

She hid her face behind the veil; her hands trembling holding onto the lace edges. As he moved his hand towards her face, she cringed, making a sound like a hurt pup. “It’s ok, it’s just me” he said showing her the bolt on the door. Thank you, she murmured lifting the veil revealing scars.

55 word story- Technology

“This GPS with voice navigation is very cool, I love it” he beamed. He had made this statement half a dozen times since they’d left home towards Ranganthittu. Suddenly, the system went blank. “Oh no, we are lost” he panicked. “Look ahead, you see the board, turn right” She stated calmly with an evil grin.

55 word story- Sleep

She watched him, the morning sun sneaking in through the crack in the curtain. A single strand of hair on his forehead. Her fingers moved forward, freezing midair. A strong hold held her back. Crazy woman, what if he wakes up? This peace and quiet will be shattered, he said. Their little brat slept on.

55 word story- Surrender

Staring into his eyes, she said “So, you really are going to get me what I asked for? Promise me you won’t forget?” He replied “I promise, cross my heart hope to die.” She smiled, a smile that lit up the entire room and ran towards him straight into his open arms- “Love you daddy”

55 word story- Carnage

So mom, I was wondering- can I not study history anymore?” Saul asked. “Honey, it is part of who we are. You need to learn that stuff” countered his mom. “ Eeks, reading about the appalling carnage in that war torn country makes me want to puke. I want to learn about robots” he whined.

Do you remember how i kept driving past your house on the rickety cycle, you looked at me through the curtains?”
“How i used to come over on the pretext of asking if you got any of our mail? and you would coyly reply No”
“Yes” she smiled frail and tired on the hospital bed.

    Bright and round, like a ball of cheese
    White and foggy, like a glass of milkshake
    That is the moon,
    Up in the sky, shining in the night
    Fading away slowly, as the sun rises
    That is the moon
    I want to fly, to touch the Moon”

“What is it, am right here, can’t you see?” she scowled

“See what i did, i called and you came running” he beamed

“Hmmm.. stop this now” she grimaced

“mommy, i missed you, that’s why i called, you were so far away in the kitchen” he whined

“Do you think i can carry off this dress?” He said

“It is kind of short, and bound to make you look pudgy,  ” the voice countered

“Really? He squeaked. I wore the blue last weekend, maybe the black full length gown ” he sighed.

“Other guys gonna go red with envy” the voice said
